Howard (HH56), I agree, name-giving is a parents prerogative and when the talk comes to innovations, then it is a commercial privilege.

I don't know why Packard stopped to call their air condition system "weather conditioner" but found annother attempt to coin a term for car A/C. After collecting three or four news articles, containing an obviously central orchestrated promotional campaign for a coinage like "coolditioner" or "colditioner" I lost the USB-stick and wasn't able to take up this trail again.
