My best guess at this point is that it is something for maybe commercial equipment such as maybe sirens or police radios etc.

Possibly a relay of some sort used for 6v to 12v conversion accessories such as a 6v radio still operating in a car converted to 12v.

Maybe just hang on to it for a while until u can find out what it is.
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
