Randy, the pleasure is all mine.

First gasoline fumes

The pioneering days were filled with milestones. Below shown is one of the first gasoline-driven cars. Wire wheels, rubber tires, a chain with guard, ... , after several thousand years of oxcarts and horse-drawn vehicles a new era in the history of transportation commenced.

The museum annotates:

"Peugeot Quadri-Cycle 1893
The gasoline-powered automobil, which first appeared in Germany in 1886 rivalled the steam-powered automobil from 1896 thanks to the promotional efforts made by its makers, and notably Panhard-Levassor und Peugeot. It showed its technical superiority from the very first automobile races in 1894 - 1895. "
