I learned from a vintage train shop keeper in Dallas years ago that these vintage electric trains are slowly going away. It seems the materials used back in the day react and parts eventually get eaten up. I believe the wheels are especially affected.

Also - in the first photo - is that train set a Lionel? I was under the impression the American Flyer used two rails and Lionel used three. The track pictured has three rails. Or is it an AF on L rails?
