Try as I might, I cannot reconcile that remark as being anything but ridiculous. Is cruising around the countryside in our old relics, not why a great number of us ENGAGE in this hobby? If I contemplate jumping in my Honda and going for a drive vs. hopping in the Packard and taking her for a spin, there's no doubt which one I'd choose.
Maybe 'ridiculous' means different things to different people, but I sure wouldn't use it as an adjective to describe rolling in a fine, antique automobile like a Packard!
