Packard couldn't do it the easy way then, they had to cut out the door skins to fit the wood panels into, as well as upper door skins and upper panel sections to fit the wood.

Mal posted this photo of a Station Sedan in the restoration process a while ago. The car in question has the upper door skins removed to accommodate the wood.
