Differentials

Can someone, in a nutshell, answer which pumpkins will fit which rear ends? I have two Patrician rears from automatic cars, and I believe those rears to be 3.54:1 or so. Will they fit a '47 Custom axle? I believe that the big cars had bigger innards.
