I assume you have referenced the service manual regarding removal and installation? As I understand you have the new one installed, but it still is not working?

What is the condition of the mating shaft? The old one would not have gotten stuck for no reason so I assume the shaft must have some damage that would interfere with operation.

Can you post a picture of the shaft?
