Those Lincolns (Continentals with the Zephyr V-12) are the worst dog cars I have ever driven, and I have driven about 5 of them, two were among the best restorations possible. There's just no go in that engine. all weight, no displacement. The best one I drove had a 1955 Cadillac V-8 in it, it approached being an automobile. Lincoln bought Hydramatic transmissions from GM in that era, and when the 'lil 12 gave it up for the ghost you could not afford to have them rebuilt, but the new Caddy OHV V-8 dropped right in and bolted up to the tranny, and that made a car out of it. Those Continentals have a good look, Edsel had a terrific eye, and would have lived to see Fo MoCo into a nice future if his weird old man had shown some pride and love in his son. Walter P. Chrysler once told Henry "that son of yours is the only thing you have that I envy".
