Just thinking about the statement above, and now it's been established the engine is a 288, is replacement of the pan because it's been "modified" to fit where a 282 usually goes. If it is, and if you obtain a replacement pan, you would probably have to modify the new pan to fit as well. Don't know the differences between a 288 and 282 pan but I do know a 282 pan is fairly shallow up front to clear the steering linkages.
