Thanks for photo confirming the pre war location.

You're right, you can barely see the first C just off the pad. The B suffix which I think is indicating the clutch type & combo change from original spec looks squeezed in also. They must have had a bunch of numbered engines sitting ready to go and then decided where to use or how to equip them. Would be interesting to see if they did the same with the C in front of the prefix on later series.
