As I used to tell people when they complained - The car cost twice the price of a new home when new.

Then I got tired of hearing about it so stopped working on that stuff. In engineering there is big money at stake and working there I didn't have to put up with rich people and their non-sense. The way to make restorations livable is to work with customers who want to enjoy spending money. Some of them got it by chiseling everybody in sight and they carry that with them and beat up on the help. Imagine going into Tiffany at Columbus Circle and complaining about the price of their merchandise. Or complaining about the rent at 851 Fifth Avenue. I knew one guy who got sued over the price of restoring a set of Duesenberg wheels. He shut down and moved on.

I'm sure you can make the Model A ones function with some modification, but along the way someone will spot it the same way as having the wrong voltage regulator or starter. It's up to the owner.
