CONSIDERING OFFERS Item #266692626765, Reads as follows " Up for sale is a 1955 Packard Patrician 4 door sedan, being offered as a Buy it Now/Make Offer format. I am working with a family selling the car collection of an elderly family member who has passed away. It is unknown how long he had owned the car and whether he ever drove it while he owned it. The odometer reads . The engine appears to be locked up from sitting so long as it would not budge with a breaker bar on the crankshaft bolt. While he owned the car it appears to have always been garaged. The floors feel and look mostly solid with the rust thru I believe limited to the areas shown in the photos. The car appears to be complete except one fender skirt. The stainless is good but the die cast pieces have pitting. At this time we are unable to locate the keys so they might not be included with the car. We do have a clear NY transferable registration for the car. Prior to 1973 NY State did not issue Titles only transferable registrations. It appears that even though the car was off the road the owner kept the car insured and registered thru 2008. Please Look at the Photos, it was difficult getting good undercarriage images. The car is located in New York's Colunbia County, south of Germantown. We ask that once the sale has been made a $500 deposit thru ebay be made within 48 hours and the balance paid within 14 days via cash on pickup or wire transfer. The car can be stored up to 2 months as long as full payment has been made. We can help load the car on to a trailer, and also depending on destination can offer enclosed trailer shipping for a reasonable fee. This is a good parts car or possible restoration. These two cars are almost indescribably filthy, but I actually see this in online ads more often than you would think. Cars covered in mildew, dead leaves and other debris. Makes for a good derelict cars photo shoot, but not if you intend to sell it. But some people are apparently too lazy or unmotivated to make the effort. Or maybe they think that that "barn find" look will attract more buyers. I hear this term all of the time as if it is something desirable. Most of these so-called barn finds should probably be left in the barn.

Mention flood damage and I am going to run in the opposite direction. I formerly worked as a driver for a used car auction company. I recall one time, I had to get into a flood damaged BMW which apparently had been shipped up from Florida following a hurricane. The car was full of sand and actually had clumps of dried seaweed stuck to the seats and even the headliner. This thing must have been completely submerged in seawater, possibly for days. It stunk like a dead fish inside. The car was literally dying as I struggled to drive it up onto the auction block and the warning lights on the dash were all flashing like Broadway on opening night. Couldn't believe that anyone would actually bid on this wreck, but it did sell. This was a dealer only auction, so I hate to think what happened next. The dealer probably polished it up and sold it to some poor sucker. What a nightmare. I have no room in my life for garage queens. I think I'm looking for a 1932 - 1934 super eight sedan of some sort. I want to know everything about the car and all it's peers and quite frankly that's difficult to learn unless that knowledge is passed. There are some other custom-bodied Clippers, among the best documented (extensive info in the Derham archives at the CCCA museum) are a pair of similar but not identical long wheelbase convertible sedans, also by Derham, for the President of Lebanon and the Sheik of Kuwait. As I recall, at least one of these was a gift, paid for by one of the major petrochemical companies. These photos from the Derham archives; the full files make fascinating reading!

Note the extended front and rear bumpers and siren on the Kuwait car, making it the longer of the two. Every so often one hears rumors that one or the other still exists, secreted away somewhere in the Middle East. But probably not.... Love that red 1954 Convertible. Years ago, a friend who has since passed away also owned a red '54 Convertible. He had purchased it for his wife in 1963 and kept it after her passing. I tried to buy it from him in the 1990's, but he refused to sell it for this reason.

That green '54 Cavalier really took a hard hit. Too bad as it looks like it was a nice car. But it must have a lot of good parts to save another Packard of this vintage.

Also love that '54 Nash hardtop. Looks like a worthy project and it has that iconic "Petty Girl" hood ornament. Hope someone puts this rare car back on the road. Glass is good, front suspension has been gone through, brakes are fresh, transmission has been gone through (the shop did a poor job with the pawl, feels like it might fall into gear at anytime. Interior is fresh. Needs paint. No appreciable rust. Never saw anything like it and I have been restoring junk since the 80s. It was found sitting in a farm field outside Lubbock, Texas. Usually there are a few design flaws in vehicles that will trap blowing sand and then proceed to rust out. Not this baby!
