Sounds like a GM alternator. Can you post a picture or find a part number?

I was aware of to what you described. Didn't know if there was a shortcut rather than scrolling through the names. Thanks for the reply. By the way my cars are listed in the registry.

I recall a very nice mid-sixties Impala Chevrolet convertible... red, white leather, console, air, .... six cylinder engine.

Reminds me of the opposite experience. Many years ago, I did some handyman work for a lady I knew from church. She wanted to sell her mid 70's Chevelle, so we agreed to trade, it was a very plain vehicle, six cylinders, stick on column. I never drove the car until the deal was done and I drove it home. Very peppy for a six it seemed, turned out to be a large V8.

Hello Don,
I have asked a local member that owns a 1936 convertible sedan to send me a photo (image ) of his link from the exhaust manifold to the choke butterfly, if it has one.
The problem with the original was was that they corroded and froze up.
I will let you know if I have any luck.
Regards Pepe,

George(39Rollson),

Looking in the Registry I can find only one Rollson listed amongst the 1941 Packards, THIS ONE.

Two questions:
1) Are you sure Dan Martin is a Forum Member here on PackardInfo?
2) The owner of the Rollon I referenced above is Dan Marrin. Are you sure the name Martin is correct?

If it is Dan Marrin, I couldn't find that he'd made a post on PackardInfo although he's included his Rollson in the Registry. BUT, you should be able to contact him by means of a Private Message. Go to the User Menu on the left side of this page. Select "Inbox" and scroll to the bottom of the page and select the "Send new nessage button". At the top of the page use the drop down showing "BigKev" as the user and scroll down until you find Dan Marrin and select his name. From there follow your nose after all, in this day and age, aren't these things supposed to be intuitive?

Now, on to something different, I invite you to include your Rollson and other Packards in PackardInfo's Packard Vehicle Registry. I usually make this request when a Forum Member makes their first post , but I must have missed yours, forgive me

I'm trying to find a user name for Dan Martin who owns a 1941 Rollson to send a PM. There doesn't seem to be an easy way or it could just be me. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. Disappointing info but I understand fully. Now it makes a bit more sense on why a previous owner discarded the vacuum tank and installed the fuel pump with a regulator set at 3psi. If they had carb issues and wanted a quick fix without spending a bunch of money on it, an old tractor sitting around would have come in handy. Being a person who cringes at bastardization of good machines, it is sad to see. I appreciate your response though.
