And if you think its a PIA to check brake fluid in a non AC Packard, try it with that blower in the way.

Randy Berger, Thanks for the reply. How is the crank different? The throw is the same if I remember the specs correctly (my manual is with the car about 40 miles from here).

I considered various options, but decided to try Calyx. I'll let you know results after I fire up the engine. By the way .030 over makes it a 379.46 now. I wonder where I can paint that?? I think I'll note it on my new blurb sheet.

I am getting a new windshield also. Does any one have hints/tips on installing a Caribbean windshield?? I know the gasket has to be cut. Where? How?? What product do you recommend to glue it back together???

Well today I took all the rims that still need to be media blasted to the local tire store to get demounted. $10 per tire (includes disposal fee).

The Baster is closed on the weekend, so hopefully I can drop them off on Monday.

I decided to paint the one rim I already had blasted and primed. So I sprayed it this morning with the rattle can Bikini Blue I ordered from Tower Paint (first coat).

At first I was a little worried due to the much darker color when compared to the firewall. I guess even the hidden paint areas have faded or where painted a different color sometime in the past.

Where compared to the paint chips and also a section of the door behind the trim that I buffed with some compound, it look spot on to the rim color. Plus my wife likes the darker color better.

Have someone blueprint the engine to make sure. Although Packard had only one size block externally they may have used different cores when casting a 320 vs a 352. And don't forget the cranks are different and there is a reason for that. 3/16ths of an inch is a hell of a lot to bore. Blueprinting will verify whether that is feasible.

Yes they can, that's how we did it when we mounted the supercharger on my '56 Patrician. Next time, I'll use an internal balance 302 Ford balancer, the pulley options are endless on those, and they fit the Packard crank.

Big Kev says "Also in one of the picture someone has mounted a fan blower directly on the firewall on the drivers side. Very unusual"

Kev, that's the usual set up for a factory air-conditioned Packard V-8. That's where it goes.

If you look in my project blog at the pictures I posted from my visit to Dan Yocum's place, you will notice that one of the 56 Clippers has an entire A/C setup still in place. So you may want to contact him to see how much he wants for it.

Also in one of the picture someone has mounted a fan blower directly on the firewall on the drivers side. Very unusual.
