SPLASHER PANS: We'll have the Duchess on the rack Tuesday for a lube and drive train fill check. We'll figure out how to modify the pans, and then they'll go to the body shop for repair, modification and paint.

BOOT: Scheduled for just after Halloween. Only a year behind intended completion. Covid.

LOCKING DOOR HANDLE: I bought this at Hershey without a lock. One was subsequently sent with keys (but no retaining screw), but I can't figure out how to install the lock into the handle. QUESTION What is the technique? Any suggestions much appreciated.

On a ‘40 the parking light are dual filament, so just attach to the second filament. For the taillight, you have to add a second, signal-dedicated socket.

When engine mounts are worn, you have to Jack up the engine to restore the spacing that allows you to get that big fan belt out. Some who knows what they are doing can tell you what the precautions are, what has to be loosened, etc. but that is usually the problem. Not enough clearance.

Andrew, welcome aboard. Install the back rest of the front seat.
1. open both front doors. 2. Tilt the rear of the seat cushion up.
3. Get the front cushion nubs to catch in the holes of the front frame rail.
4. Push the rear of the seat cushion down.

If you’re doing all the wiring, remove the windshield molding to get access to the screws that hold the tip of the dash. There oar nuts on the Barack side of the far left and right. Loosen the steering column screws and those along the bottom of the dash.
You can access the nuts if the back side of the center section by removing the ashtray and the radio and pushing the radio back. Removing the glove box can give you more room..
