I was reading HMN and saw an advert for a new product.
It is called covercarconcepts.com. It sounds like a good idea. I visited the web site and I was impressed. any thoughts or opinions?

turn signal cancel switch

I have read all the posts in regards to turn signal cancel switch. at one point my sig did cancel as normal. I have taken the steering wheel off for a variety of reasons. at some point the distance between the outer shroud and the bottom edge of the steering wheel has increased. since I have the car running well I decided to fix the 'odds and ends' that are not quite right. I have fussed with this all day and no improvement. and I have followed the advice in other related posts.
what have I missed????? encouragement is appreciated. my friend said to just put it back and cancel the turn signal yourself. I am too stubborn for that. I want it to work the way it is intended. thanks tim

Good news!
My packard is driving better now than ever. I bought a replacement distrib. ground strap from one of the packard parts suppliers. Now the car drives very well. I have great acceleration. I even have the dash lights working so night driving is no problem. The best thing now is i can get out and drive. I thought for sure i would need to rebuild the carb. but i can hold off on that. thanks for all the great advice. I should have posted sooner , but i have been busy . all my family is in sonoma county. the fires have been devastating. tim

GOOD NEWS. i finally made some progress on my packard. I was able to go on a long drive yesterday at speeds up to 65mph with no hesitation or acceleration issues. WOW.
With the help of this forum etc i went back to the distributor and cleaned etc . I repaired the ground wire quite some time ago and i even reworked it again. Because of something i read somewhere i finally just scrapped the orig. I could not find a new one so i used the one connector from the orig and made a new wire. I think i am finally on the correct path. I will do more checking and tuning and will go for another drive. thanks for all your help t

i did a reading again from the line that goes from behind the carb,(between the carb and firewall) on the intake portion, which leads down to the fuel pump.
the reading i got was 19 and when i accelerated it went up to a steady 20. thanks
