I thought it was unusual, the wheel bearing had been installed backwards on this axle, which was rectified recently.

Hi Mal, when I had my super Clipper, it ran hot as well. I borrowed a Fluke thermal imaging gun, and I discovered that the thermostat had failed in the closed position (wouldn't open). A new thermostat solved that issue.

Wow, the Egyption, my favourite.

It will look good.

Hi Mal, when I had my 47 Super Clipper (now in the Andrew Lidden collection), I had my front lever arm shocks rebuilt by WW Shock Absorbers in Brisbane. They provided excellent service. I simply posted one up at a time. They even supplied a better housing housing at no charge.

I have a rebuilt WDO531S to suit if interested. It came from the Packard Seattle Company, also includes base gasket.

Re: 21st series R9 overdrive kick down switch

I finally got around to removing the mechanism, and only a slight adjustment was required to align the kick down switch plunger. However when all was reassembled, with the accelerator pedal fully depressed, it does not have enough travel to dis-engage the kick down plunger. We are only talking about a couple of millimetres.

Is any adjustment available on the throttle actuation mechanism available?
