Look in the plumbing section of a hardware store, they have chrome or stainless snap-in plugs to fill holes in kitchen sink rims for soap dispensers, sprayers, etc. they may have one that fits.

Good Luck, John

The inserts look home made to me, possibly someones attempt to reduce the size of the venturi of an non stock carb. to 15/16 as called for in the service manual.

Ken,

If you talked to Owen I am sure he told you to check the distributor advance to make sure it is working properly.

The distributor advance is the most neglected part of the engine and one of the most important to proper running, IMO.

If no advance the engine will bog down and be all in at about 50 mph.

FYI, The points in the distributor are NAPA CS720 and the condensor is NAPA AL869.

Over the years I have noticed that many NE distributors have loose rotors on them.
The easy way to fix that is with a piece of paper about 3/8 wide placed across the top of the rotor and then press the rotor down over the paper, trim the ends and you should be good.
I have on ocassion had to double the paper to get a snug fit.

Good Morning,

I am looking on this site for a parts book for the 32 900 and can't seem to find one, Am I missing it?

I want to know if the 3 speed trans. used on the 900 is the same as the 3 speed used on the 9th. series senior cars.

Thanks, John

Jason

It sounds to me like an exhaust leak between the manifold and the block.

Back in the 70's Edelbrock and Holley made water injection kits.

I picked up an Edelbrock Vara-jection kit new in box at a swap meet a couple years back, plan to use it on my 85 Airstream MH w/454 when I get to that end of the project.

I am in western Washington so anyplace I go is up hill.

I see them both on E-bay from time to time.

John Sauser
The fact that it does not chatter when the clutch is hot is the same as fading brakes, the clutch plate material has less friction when hot, this seem's to indicate that when the clutch is squeezed between the flywheel and pressure plate it is grabbing too aggressively.

Have you check to see if the Marcell spring is there?

Your disc may have one or two of them.

You should be able to see the Marcel spring with the clutch in the car if you can see the edge of the friction disk.

This is a discription and photo of the Marcel spring.

Good luck, John
