Well, I got a carburetor kit from Daytona. I had the carb partially disassembled and soaking in cleaner. Now the problem is...the needle valve assembly for the float broke off flush to the white metal of the housing. I did not force it, it turned fine for almost a turn and just snapped off. Where it's located, in the top and between the float supports, I can't get to it with anything to try to remove it. So my carburetor is now junk, isn't it? Should I try to find another one to rebuild? Is this one now deemed an unacceptable core? What do I do now? How can I fix it, or can I? This car has been a night mare to work on.

Hey guys. I'm redoing the upholstery in my Packard. The rear package shelf seems to be several layers of painted cardboard. It dissentegrated when I tried to take it out. Anyone know if someone is reproducing them? I have spent several hours looking on line with no luck today. There isn't enough left of the original to make a pattern off of it. Any help is always appreciated.

Hey guys. I got fire and I have fuel going into the carb, but only runs if I mist gas into the carburetor. Gas leaks from all the gaskets, pretty dangerous. So time to rebuild the original carb for its first time ever. I took the top part off the float bowl and it was pretty gross, the screen filter was clogged up sever. Two new inline filters, a new pump and running from fresh gas in a gas can, so it has to be the carburetor, right? Yes, I made sure all connections were tight. My question is, how hard is it to rebuild this carburetor with a new kit? Any words of wisdom? I have rebuilt others before with great results.

Anyone have a 2 barrel Carter carburetor for my 53 Packard Clipper Deluxe with a 327 ? Its a wgd 2102s. I need a working carb or a rebuild kit cheap and fast or our property manager will have our car towed by the end of the month. It is my only car, a daily driver. Its in great running , body, and mechanical shape, except the carb is shot. I am a single parent and money is tight. My son has severe medical disabilities and medical costs are killing us, even with 3 insurance companies. I have tried to sell it, on here and craigslist, but everyone wants it for free, or near it. I know Kanter has kits for $55 , but we dont even have that. I am on military disability and it pays squat. My son loves this car , he picked it out. We did all the work to get it on the road , and the upolstery. All we need is a carb kit or a good usable carb. So, if somebody has an extra one lying around and can sell it at a reasonable price, let me know. Richard France, 757-585-1415. Thank you all so much.

Ok people, time is running out on the Packard. I have till the end of the month to have the car running or our apartment manager is going to have it towed. All it needs is a carburetor, rebuilt and she is good. This is our only car and I need something that runs. I have a child with severe disabilities and his medical costs take most of my money with little left, even a carb kit. Surely someone out there would like to have this car. I would hate to crush it because it is such good shape, body and mechanical, over a carburetor.
