Howdy! Long time no see haha. This will be my blog for my travels and experience with my new '51. It is the first car I've purchased with my own income, and one I'll most likely have the rest of my life. It's currently serving as my daily driver. It's in very decent driver shape, no rot, excellent floors, trunk, etc. I hope y'all enjoy the photos and following me in my adventures! Also, notice the car has no paint nor trim codes on the vin tag. Does anyone know why? I can't find any information pertaining to it.

Recently went and picked up my first bath tub Packard, a 1950 Eight Touring Sedan, the owner before me had done a ton of work already, so I don't need to do much and I'll have a nice daily driver. The body has no rot whatsoever. The Earl Schieb paint needs redone, some dents buffed out, and the wiring completed and it'll be ready. The 288 was just rebuilt with less than 50 miles on it, and the 3 on the three shifts very nicely. Haven't tested the overdrive yet however.

Where are they located? I'd be happy to get them.

Howdy everybody! I'm back, and with another Packard. The 55' I had went to a new home, and I brought a 53' home. It is rough, but very solid underneath. The engine has had a valve job done, and the carb rebuilt, but isn't running yet, as I need to replace the starting components in the distributor, and place the carb back on, and hook up the fuel lines, linkage, etc. It is eventually going to be a semi-restored daily driver. The worst part of the car as it sits is the interior, as its in shreds, but that's nothing a blanket won't fix for now haha. It seems like a lot for 17 year old me, but I think I can handle it! I'm looking forward to sharing my progress with you all.

Cordially,
Deven

Sad news. We jacked the Panama up, only to reveal nothing but rusty depression. Body mounts are gone. firewall is shot, the inner rockers are nonexistent, and we bent the frame just by jacking it up. If anyone has another, solid, frame available, let me know.

Thanks for all the feedback and friendliness!

Just ordered the oil pump adapter kit from Jack Vines, next onto brakes if this fixes the knocking..

Great to hear your all's stories and see your cars! Cool to see that you guys were into Packards when you were my age. Once a Packard man always a Packard man! Just ask one who owns one (or a couple!) To those whom drove their Packard to school, how did the other students react?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Here's a video from when we first got the car running:

Watch here

It quit smoking after about 5 mins of running. It hasn't been starting since then, due to the knocking issue and the starter being burnt up.

Howdy. I'm glad to have finally found a place to share my Packard interest. I believe I may be the youngest Packard owner, I'm 17 and own a 55' Super Panama I'm restoring. It's going to be my daily driver to get me to and from highschool. You older guys don't have to worry about the next generation taking up interest in Packards! I've already posted a blog on my 55', so follow there for updates. I'm interested to see if there are any other guys around my age that drive and maintain a classic Packard.

Thanks for your time!
