I have spark now, but the plugs are soaked from trying so much before getting the points correct. It did try to fire a couple times, so I'm drying the plugs and trying again tomorrow. Any recommendations for breaking in the engine?

I'm attempting to fire the engine for the first time. I am not getting spark. I checked by pulling a plug and an in-line plug tester. I checked the coil which is new and has 1.4 ohms from terminal to terminal and 8600 ohms from positive to coil output wire. I have never adjusted point and believe I have it accurate at .016. (Could use help with confirmation on how to set them,as I used a YouTube video). I have new plugs, wires, rotor, and points, was sent the wrong cap so using the previous cap. What else could the issue be?

Thank you in advance for any assistance anyone can offer.

Shane

Oil hole on back of right head

Looking for some assistance. ON the back of the right head is a threaded oil hole (not the one with the bracket that holds the rod for the ultramatic). I have the oil pump conversion kit, but do not recall where the hard line ran to from the back of the head. Can anyone advise where this line would go an can it be capped off with the oil pump conversion? Thank you in advance.

As always Howard, thank you for your help. A follow up question is the 55 is a positive ground. The pictures I have when the battery was in the car shows as a negative ground with a red clamp running to the starter on the black wire and a small clamp running to the ground by the oil filter. The previous owner stated that he disconnected the battery all the time because the torsion system had a constant draw, which I found out to be untrue from feedback on this sight. Is it possible that he just connected the battery wrong and that was the reason the battery wasn't charging? More importantly, how do I confirm and correct if need be?

Starter wiring help

I put my starter back in and wired it like the diagram shows, black and two reds together on a large post, one brown to itself on a small post and one light green to itself on a large post. I have the autolite starter with 3 posts. I connected the battery and the starter began spinning, without the ignition on. Tried swapping posts for the light green and black/2 reds and it did the same thing. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you gentlemen. It appears that I do have the hole in the cross member so I am going to go this route if the vendor does not have a Clipper style available. I appreciate your assistance and knowledge.

Exhaust question

Quick and easy question for you all. Will the dual exhaust system for the Patrician and 400 fit a Clipper? I know they have different wheelbases, but wasn't sure about the exhaust path underneath the car. I don't want to by a kit if the bends don't fit.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you, that's what I was hoping for. Out of curiosity, what is the bearing for?
