The pulley for the Packard Power steering pump, looks exactly the same as that of a pulley used on GAZ 53A truck engine(ZMZ 53)alternator.

Nice work on the Power steering pump Hank. Is it only me or did the 1955-56 Packard have a sign on the Power steering pump telling about using right fluid in it? Or im on the wrong side of the tracks.

Its only my opinion, but the shade of the engine paint on Hanks car engine, in my eyes is era correct. Different light sources and different cameras can bend light and make colors appear odd shaded.

A oil cooling system was used in the USSR cars even in the late 80s. Without the oil cooler/oil radiator(somewhat like a transmission fluid cooler on US cars on the front)the engine would have sized in no time.
But the name Vyacheslav Molotov, mentioned in a Gerds previous post is something I don't want to talk about here.

New Im a little bit disappointed, the original engine has been replaced with the ZMZ-53 engine. But that engine is hardly capable of any high RPM(unless modified before).
The alternator and Power steering pump, seem to be still original.
But since ZMZ 13 engine is in Estonia extremely rare, then its no wonder they turned to the closest alternative. Worst case would have been a inline 6 or 4.

I don't want to ruin Gerds post, but the presented GAZ 13 is officially for sale:http://www.kuldnebors.ee/search/soidukid/uunikumid/gaz-13-catafalck/search.mec?pob_post_id=7586580&pob_action=show_post&pob_cat_id=10698&pob_browser_offset=0&pob_view_language_id=et

I don't know what to say, maybe I should not say anything. For me it is more confusing the hundreds of for sale advertisements of old cars.

I think Gerd should not worry much about potential "contamination" of this forum by this section. But I say this: there is little literature about ZIS and GAZ 13 and other "Soviet elite" cars and only people like Gerd and those who have worked, owned a vehicle like that can tell of its inner secrets or its design by bolt and screw.
And not many want to tell about what they know for many reasons.
As for the others ZIS car is in my eyes still a Packard although made in russia(soviet union) and why not use this section for reference and debunking all the old myths about Soviet car industry,I ask my self where els can we do it?

A former known? car in a unknown collection in Tallinn:

If my senses are correct, the ZIS 110 in this collection is the same car bucked out from a shed in 2007!
