You must have some time on your hands!

Kev sure has made a lot of progress.

Thanks. But that's what I've got and unfortunately with the new rubber installed, the fit is nice and tight (vent window frame to rubber), and while testing while installed it opened up the inner part to create more play as the bronze is softer than an original cast. My fault for forcing it ever so slightly. I applied some quik weld inside for the time being to close it up, so hopefully that work until I find an original.

Let me know if you can't locate one in the USA.

Thanks Fred. If one isn't found here I'll definitely reach out.

EDIT: tried inserting the links, but it didn’t work.

Do a search on ebay for “packard vent window regulator” and you’ll see them come up.

That's the one I have. Thanks for the recommendation though.

Vent window frame is aligned as best as I could get it. I did use my hand to try to guide the window open and close, but forgot to use silicone or rubber dressing on the rubber at first. I however did apply some after the fact. Unfortunately I was testing it inside and did not take it out in the sun to soften or conform to sit lower. I've been installing my new windows and vent windows and wanted to make sure it worked correctly before putting back everything together. Fortunately the drivers side works with no issue even with some slight resistance on the rubber. However that gear is the original cast aluminum, so it's a lot harder and doesn't give. Maybe I should've tested it after having it in the sun for some time. Unfortunately it's too late for that for this gear. Hopefully I'll be able to find an original. Thanks for the advise for future reference.

WANTED 1937 120-C vent window regulator or regulator gear

I'm looking for a 1937 120-C passenger vent window regulator or original regulator gear. A few of the teeth on my gear were worn, so I tried to rebuild it with the reproduced gear that is available online. But that gear is made out of bronze and is just too soft. I installed new weatherstripping on the vent window so it's a bit tight & a bit of resistance in closing and opening it and it has caused the gear inside that is keyed to the shaft to get smashed and open up, so now's there's some play.

I tried this approach before on my 37, as many have stated, to prime if it's been sitting awhile. Did some research and supposedly had gotten the correct electric pump (Airtex E8902),but when I would accelerate the car to about 55mph it would start to sputter. Seems like the fuel was being slightly restricted through the electric fuel pump. Rebuilt mechanic pump, pulled and cleaned the tank, new lines all before trying this. Pulled the electric fuel pump off and that fixed it. It would be nice to get a resolution though as it would be nice to have a pump to prime.

No prep at all. Just painted on the bright chrome, bumpers too. I know this is less than durable, but I am the one maintaining them and I am very careful.
That said, Packard did the same, all areas under the original paint where standard bright nickel, no texture for 'tooth'.
As to paint, tremclad red spray can, on the bumpers and bumperettes, masked and sprayed the black with a spray bomb too On the hubcaps the black was brushed on with black model paint. I used a desk magnifying lamp to see the edges better, the polishing process on the hubcaps caused the letter stamping and ring grooves to be greatly diminished in height and clarity so careful strokes where needed to key around each letter.

Thanks Bob. I'll give it a shot I really wanted to avoid having to scuff up the chrome.
