Kev
The 1/4 20 slotted flat head screws used in the middle steel bows mounting have a .500 max head diameter and 5/8 overall length. The nuts are .200 thick ,maybe jam nuts are this thickness. Hope this helps for your top bow figures.

As far as the Carb.Choice, go with the one that matches your air cleaner. As the carbs used different air cleaners for Stromberg or Carter carburetors. I like the Carters as there are more kits and parts available. Also the Stromberg without a vacuum port, may be a 1936 120 carb,as they didn't use a vacuum advance that year. Also buy your gas line tubing by the roll. Get Cunifer(a nickel-copper) its easy to bend and almost won't rust.

For what it is worth. The inner panels I believe were semi gloss black. The only way to verify this is, to find an original painted non black car. I always felt he was wrong on that, but how about asking Flack, what he thinks about this, then I will buy it.

The easiest way to see if it is a 115 or 120 is to count the holes that hold the inner side panel on. 115C have 4 holes and 120C have 5 holes. The measurement of length of a 115C fender from the running board edge to the front edge below the bumper braces approx. 73 1/4 inches measuring inside, next to the hood about 2 to 3 inches in and hold your tape against the fender instead letting it bridge. One trick we use to do,when you could still find them in a salvage yard, was cut a piece of string that length to take with you to check on any you might buy.

I have both inner fender panels for a 115c
as well as a convertible top mechanism (irons). Are your fenders for a 120 or 6 cyl? if they are 6 cyl. there will be four holes at the top or 120 5 holes. the fenders looked longer, so that is why I asked(they would bolt on perfectly at the grille front)All 6 or 120 are the same from the fire wall back(excepting the interior appointments)

The only part that is maybe a problem, though easily fixed, is the fan may have longer blades than the original fan. As was the case, using a 47 six cyl. engine in my 115c.

37 Packards 115C & 120C used a 3 brush generators with a non movable third brush, known as split field generators. I don't know for sure if 1938 6 & 120 generators were the same.
