I doubt much would happen. The breaker is over amped to protect multiple windows operating at the same time and the solenoids are only on briefly. If more than one window motor was stalled at a limit and switches were held down then it might trip if the locks were activated.

Two buttons wired in parallel which look something like the old chrome Ford starter buttons. One mounted on each end of dash that go to ground when pushed. The single wire connected to both buttons feeds a relay which is activated by a ground signal. Relay looks identical to the common black case power relays but works with a ground like a horn relay. It is mounted on the upper cowl next to the power window relay and is powered by the same breaker as the windows.

Need for a latch also came up a couple of years ago and some details are in another post. Some time in 51 they changed the lid latch assy to a different style and the two capture mechanisms do not operate the same way. The different latches also had a different body striker part.. If you get the wrong lid part to what is in the body I do not know if the two will be compatible. If your lid part is missing entirely you may need to post a photo of the body part so those with parts cars can see which style their car might have or else be sure to get both pieces. I do remember reading of the reason for the change and two latches are mentioned in the parts book as Don posted in the older linked post. I still have not found a service bulletin or article with details so what I remember reading might have been called out by an author in one of the history of Packard books.

I probably have one due to Daytona rebuilding the 47 carb but have not driven the car to have any personal drive experience. Do remember a few years ago there was controversy because some had installed them and then said they pulled them back out because of perceived flooding and surging issues when the car was being driven. Whether that was due to the valve leaking or external issues with modern gasoline is unknown but the valve got the blame in their minds and they went back to the needle type.

Very sorry to hear this. As many may know, a few years ago Brian was the member who took on the tremendous amount of work to compile and then link the pertinent service bulletins and counselor articles by year and subject so Kev could start building the service index many of us use frequently today. He also went thru some of his literature to compiled by year the few sales RPO codes that are posted on site. I knew his mom and dads passing was hard but didn't realize he had a stroke to contend with too. May he rest in peace.

The biggest issue I have seen with the flat elastomer cushion designs is they eventually compress and form a round circle where the seat presses into the soft surface. Daytona says the design eliminates the slow leak caused by worn needle valves but depending on how resilient and thick the elastomer substance is it may eventually harden and no longer compress to the point a slow leak develops. I honestly do not know if it is an issue with the Daytona seats and gasoline but it was an all too frequent issue on some air solenoid valves that were used in equipment I serviced. I also found the flat seat an issue with the solenoid valve that turns the vacuum supply to my 47 Electromatic clutch valve on and off. That rubber seat had gotten hard and with the round circle depression unable to compress it could no longer seal at all.

Cannot answer as to if anyone has done it but a concern if I were adding a shoulder restraint on that body would be the size or narrowness of the pillar and can its interior space be accessed to get a decent sized reinforcing plate behind the thin sheetmetal box structure for an anchor bolt to thread into.

I remember your mentioning this a few months ago and am glad YnZ has them but I suspect many, like myself until then, did not know the connectors were even available. No idea if YnZ was the one that repro'd them or if they were still being mfg'd but if they were repro'd and Dwight could work out a deal to also stock and package or promote the terminals along with the switches I expect both companies could benefit. I don't remember if they were visible on the YnZ store site but still suspect many are not familiar with the company or know that the terminals are available. YnZ used to have a $20 or so minimum order fee. If they still have it or it has increased like everything else, that could be an issue for some in wanting to buy just a few terminals.

I see Dwight has also added new reproduction power window switches for most models. A great addition and if he could find and carry or repro the mounting clips for the switches and make a deal with YnZ to also stock the 55-6 electrical terminals that would be a source for products none of the other vendors seems to carry.
