Rp42.

I can identify the handbrake lever and the steering rod that goes from the steering box to the front axle. See pictures below.

For the steering box, that does not look like the one on my car. See pictures below of mine.

Thanks,

John

RP42,

Yes I believe all of your parts (excepted the door handle) are 1920's parts.

They look the same as my 1922 133 parts.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,

John

Owen,

Thanks for all the information and pictures. I was able to find the bronze throttle gear from Max Merritt and have installed it on the car. I will print out your pictures and measure/ make the throttle rod.

I did email Kanter auto about the Sylphon thermostat but have not gotten any response. I will call them Monday. I did go on Bill Hirsch website but he was out of stock.

I did have the engine rebuilt about a year ago. They rebuilt the carb. I will do a compression test and pull a plug out like you said. I will also check for a vacuum leak and adjust the idle mixture with my vacuum gauge.

How do I check to make sure the Dual ignition is properly synchronized? I had the engine shop do this for me when I had the engine rebuilt.

When I go onto Daytona Parts they ask for the carb number for kit fitment. The numbers are 10-1, 10-2, 10-28, 10,34, 10-5, 10-6. I did attach a screen shot of there website for more clarification. I could not find any of these number on my EE-2 carb. Am I not looking hard enough? Where is this number/ what number do you think I need?

Last could you send me a picture of your carburetor fuel bowl heat shield and your link rod from the automatic choke. The last thing I will do once all of this is done is paint the carb.

Thanks for all your help.

1934 1100 Packard Standard 8 Carb Adjustment and Radiator Louvers

I have a 1934 1100 Packard Standard 8. It starts up fine but when I give it throttle it back fires/ lose of power.

Timing is good, coils are fine. I think it maybe a rich fuel mixture. I do get a lot of white smoke from the tail pipe. How do I adjust the carburetor? The carburetor is a Stromberg EE-2. Any other thought?

Also the Louvers on the radiator do not open or close when the car gets hot/ cold. They are not rusted shut and work fine if I move the lever by hand. (The 5th picture has a blue circle around what I am calling the radiator diaphragm) Could that be my problem? How hard is it to rebuild/ how would I rebuild it?

I do have a broken throttle lever gear and I am missing the rod that connects the throttle gear to the transfer lever on the fire wall. Does anyone have an extra gear and or rod or know where to get one?

Thanks for the help,

John

1922 Single Six 133 Touring Transmission Question

I am trying to put the clutch/ throw out bearing on to the transmission/ engine. Can anyone explain how the clutch and throw out bearing works on this transmission?

Does the clutch pedal push against the pressure plate and then pulls against the throwing bearing? (See pictures below) Or do I have this on the wrong way?

Does it have a clutch disk? Am I missing anything else?

Thanks for all the help,

John

Help finding parts for 1922 Single Six 133 Touring
#16

Our restoration is coming along. I will post some pictures soon.

I am looking for the following parts (or prints)

1) Clutch pedal support bracket P/N 111573

2) Steering spark and throttle lever, both have the same part number 121519 or 121520 depending on the steering wheel. I am not sure what steering wheel I have. I did attach a picture at the bottom. If anyone can help me figure out what levers I need that would be great.

3) Horn button/ assembly. Looking at the parts book, page 156 PN 121099 steering post horn button, PN 121539 horn button contact washer, PN 121508, horn button to to horn cable contact cup, PN 121518 horn button to cable contact insulator. I would need all of these parts.

4) I can not tell from the parts book what peace I have for the spindle (Picture below). I think I have on page 71 PN 118009 steering knuckle inboard spacer (need 2 I have 1).

If that is true then I need on page 71 PN 118010 steering knuckle inboard dust washer retainer (need 2) and on page 70 PN 118012 steering knuckle inboard dust washer

Thanks for the help,

John

1922 Single Six 133 Touring

Hello all!

I am restoring a 1922 Single Six 133 Touring and have some questions.

1) I need some information on the front wheel bearings. The car has wooden wheels and the Packard parts book shows the front inboard bearing as a gilliam part number 127969 and an outboard bearing as part number 97056. Is there any new part number to use for the wheel bearings? Could someone show me a picture or tell me a place to buy both wheel bearings?

2) I need some information on the spark plugs. The number of the Motor Fuelizer spark plug is 129832. It had a Champion C-16C in it which looks like it is now a W16Y or W16Y014, Champion also shows a 561. I don't know the difference between them. Do you know if they used the fuelizer plug like a glow plug to heat the air before it goes into the intake manifold? (I did do some reading on here and some people are saying to not use this spark plug in the motor fuelizer because of the new gasoline does not need it? Can someone tell me if I need this plug or not!?)

3) I also need information on the motor spark plugs.Motor spark plug number 129833. The motor did not have any plugs in it. What plugs should be used?

4) my steering wheel is in bad shape. The wood around the wheel is in pieces. Does anyone know who might rebuild them?

5) Also do you have any information on the clutch? It looks clean but it may have to be rebuilt.

6) The fuelizer is cracked where it mounts to the intake manifold. Would there be any parts available for the fuelizer? Or does anyone have a fuelizer?

7) Does anyone have any pictures of how the engine and transmission mount?
