Vanes were stuck, T turn was stuck, probably to do with the vanes. Seems to be ok now. Somehow managed to put a quart of water in the tank. That was fun.
Went out today and seems fine. Just have to keep an eye on the sediment bowl.
Now to sort out charging.

I don't have a handle. Previous owner had a plain handle made, Don't know which door it goes in. Assume the drivers . PO has passed so I can't ask.

Any idea what the sediment bowl gasket replacement part number is?
Auto parts houses by me can't work from size, need application. Oh, sorry sir what is a Packard?
Got a load of water in the tank. Took the bowl off and gasket is in pieces.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys, bought point conversion kit. Turns out it is made less than 100 miles from where I live. Will put it in this weekend. Now I have a coolant leak somewhere.

Where can I get tuneup parts for my 1931 826? Looking for wires, plugs, condenser, dual points.

Well, I sent the carb to Jeff at The Old Carb Doctor. He found a couple issues and dealt with them. Got a gas tank from a member that was in very nice condition. Got it running today and is much better. No big clouds of black smoke. Is a tad boggy on acceleration but I will play with that. Thanks to all for their suggestions.

Does anyone know where I might find the paint code for the engine green and the dark blue for the body. It is almost black.
Off topic, how about a source of generator brush springs. This is a CD865 generator from I believe, a 29 Packard. Spring is normal coiled flat spring.
Thanks in advance, Fred.

If memory serves, the old tanks were tinned inside and out , then the outside was painted . There was a company that did milk cans here and they did tanks as well. They also did steel boat tanks as well. Good luck finding a guy to tin milk cans now.
I have to deal with the tank in my 826. just started leaking.
