Thanks Don, I got the gas tank and fuel lines cleaned out… the sending unit looked ok… we will see…. I think I figured out why it was stopped driving… a piece of the valve guide flaked off … probably cracked when it was driven in… it was stuck on top of the piston and made a few marks on the head… I took out the valve and ground off the guide below the crack.. it’s a little shorter than the others but I think it’s ok…

Great post!! I followed along and did the same thing for my 50 super 8. It worked great... One thing i did was i put the key in the vice and used a paperclip for a pointer then slid the lock cylinder over the key.. Moved the pointer to the pin i was working on... worked for me....

Thank you. I will post a picture of the spare tire .. I’m pretty sure it’s all original… if not someone a long time ago went to a lot of trouble to use the later caps…. I think I’ll try to find the 51-later caps…

Thats why i posted... there are no clips, just holes in the rims, maybe the clips were removed??? There is another wheel in the spare well, with body matching paint and a trim ring.. No hubcap... So i think they are original... im guessing they used the later style hubcap... The VIN is 2382-5-9520 so its a pretty high serial number for a 50.... Maybe it had the later hubcaps on it???

Im trying to obtain needed parts to at least get it back on the road... Please see attached photo, i have the trim rings, but need to know the correct hubcap for this car, as i have none... Thanks to all.... Paul
