I'm trying to remove the seat back of my 55 400 rear seat. I cannot find what is holding it in. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Owen - Thanks for catching my typ9o.
HH56 - Thanks for suggesting Max. He apparently has a replacement for $45.
Riki - I placed the order with Max before seeing your suggestion. Thank you - I'll try Chrysler if Max doesn't come through.

Nothing like the help available from PackardInfo!

I need a pinion seal for a 55 400. Kanter has on back order and no idea when it will be available. What brand is the axel? Any suggestions as to where I might find a seal?

Thanks,
Bernardi

I don't need an adapter at the moment, but would consider stock piling one for future use. Please keep us informed.

Getting a rope seal properly installed is problematic these days, I fear. At any rate, I'll give the new version a trial. The check goes into the mail today, Jack.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

HH56 -

Thank you for the wiper info. Now I need to find a modern rear main seal. I have the Bendtson adapter for the 700R4 and would like to install the seal while the car is on the lift.

Vacuum wipers and modern rear main seal

My 55 400 is going to have the Bendtsen adapter and 700Ra4 installed. It would be nice to replace the rope rear main seal with a modern one that won't drip on my driveway. Where can I get one?

A new fuel pump (55-57 T-bird)will furnish plenty of vacuum if the wiper motor is refreshed. Several folks have noted that the vacuum motors can be successfully rebuilt, but I don't know where. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bernardi

I believe someone has found or manufactured a modern real main seal. Would someone please let me know where to procure one?

Thanks,
Bernardi
