Re: Electromatic Clutch?

I will look into both of those companies for sure. And, if my car does not have all of those components, and I chose to reinstall them if there were other parts of it there, would it still work? I will check to see if I have those parts on the engine when I am back at home. They do look familiar.

Electromatic Clutch?

Since my 1949 is completely apart and the body is being painted, we have started getting ready to rewire the car. We plan to order a new wiring harness for it, however, I am not sure if it has the electromatic clutch. I believe it does, but I want to make sure. It is a 23rd series car, and while on the subject, where would I go to obtain the most accurate, complete wiring harness for the car?

I don't know if it was made to commemorate the 50th anniversary, as it was used on 22nd and 23rd series cars. But I am also rather sure that no one makes reproductions. They're quite rare and you'd have to try to find an original one. eBay is always where I look, one comes up every so often. Are you looking to replace one you have?

The car is finally being painted! So now, at this point, we are looking to get interior things ready. It is a 1949 Deluxe 8 from the 23rd series. The interior is trim code 69, which is tan striped wool broadcloth. We are in need of a new headliner, windlace, carpet, and the material for the back of the front bench seat. I have been able to find all the materials except the fabric for the bench seat. How can I have this redone? I have no idea where to get the material from, either. The car is also in need of the large rubber mat that was in the front of the interior. If anyone has any knowledge of where I can get these materials, please let me know! I have been searching for a long time and haven't found what I need. Thank you!

Hey, everybody! My 1949 Deluxe is almost ready to be painted, but I don't know if the firewall was originally painted the colour of the car or if it was gloss black. Any information on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for all the help, gentlemen. I'm really looking to get the driving lamps just for better night driving, but also for the good looks. Thanks again.

I know you can get some from SMS Auto Fabrics for sure. I don't remember what the product number is, but it shouldnt be too difficult to find. Thanks for that tip, too. I'll check that out.
