I got a quote of almost $4000 to rechrome every outer part of the car from the bumpers to the emblems as well as polish and get any dings out of the stainless.

The work they do is custom so no part number you send the dimensions and a picture and it is made to specification so no modification needed almost a direct bolt in replacement. Maybe if there were enough people looking to buy one there could be a discount. I attached what their work looks like.I think its a fair value but even if you paint it black the tanks and welds will look modern and not original as I said.
On a previous post I said it was $450 and I just found out that includes shipping which surprised me. To include an trans cooler it would be another $70.00

Got a quote from "The Radiator Lady" for a full aluminum radiator for $450 with stock mounting location and hose location. Will just need to drill the mounting holes. Seems less than a record and probably more efficient. Only thing I'm torn on is it is very much not original.

Makes sence, I figured as much as the head will be no problem just need to get under the car to figure out how to get the pan off. It seems to be possible as I think I remember there service manual even having instructions on how to hone the motor while it was still in the car.

I know some newer engine have torque to yeild head bolts, but will I need to source new studs when I open my '51 327 to fix the engines smoking issue? Planning on next year to get money for the parts needed. Also if new studs are needed where are they sourced from.

I think that Lincoln and Chrysler are doing a good job with classic style. It would be better if they just started a new car company as the Packard name doesn't mean anything to many people, even some that like classic cars.
