The thread that Guscha posted about the Juan / Evita Peron car was dated 2013. Maybe it is time for an update.

This article, dated October 9, 2017, cites the car (LHD) was put up for auction by Carol Plaster, widow of Ray Plaster of Bull Shoals, Arkansas. Ok, seems to be a little confusion regarding 2 of the 4 Packard dealerships in Seattle shown here:https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/dealer/index.php?sort=ASC&field=Country&Type=&pos=3200 Hope we can clear this up.

I am talking about;
1. Seattle Automobile Co. listed at 4242 Roosevelt Way.https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/dealer/View.php?ID=2375
2. Snyder Packard listed at 4522 Roosevelt Way.https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/dealer/View.php?ID=3353

When you click onto the descriptions for each dealership they seem to overlap. The Seattle Automobile Co. description mentions Packard Center, “…Other U-Dist. dlrs were Snyder @ 4546, Roosevelt Way 1947, then The Packard Center 1951-1954 and University Auto Center1957-1958”.

Getting back to the photo in question, the General Insurance Co. of America (now called Safeco and part of Liberty Mutual) was located in the Brooklyn Building at the NE corner of 45th Street and Brooklyn Avenue in the University District of Seattle. Notice the taller building next to it – the one with the ‘cake-layer top’ and a mast with 4 squares.

I went to Google Earth and searched for 4546 Roosevelt Way. As I zoomed in I turned to the southeast and noticed a building with a ‘cake-layer top’ now known as the Graduate Hotel – Seattle. This cinched the location it for me.

The Packard Center Company was located at 4522-46 Roosevelt Way from 1951 to 1954. They were preceded by Snyder Packard and succeeded by University Auto and today by University Mazda.

Kevin is this something you can clean up for the Dealership Section?

Found it! It is in Seattle. Will post more in a few minutes.

Ran across this image on the Internet, but could not find out where it was located. Cannot find Packard Center Company on the Dealership roster.

Has a sign introducing 1951 Packards. Car service bays have a direct entrance, rather than a single entrance into a large garage. Indicates to me a dealer in a warm location and not bothered by winter snow.

Would like to get more info for Kevin's list.

John, Palazuelo only plans are to get away from this property – he no longer wants it. Years ago experts told him to market it as an industrial or warehouse property, but he would not listen. Only now is his real estate agent marketing it this way.

Kevin is right that the property is “ready for redevelopment.” But in my opinion, it will not be razed anytime soon. It will be left to rot until someone has the money to tear it down.

Remember Palazuelo does NOT own the entire site. The City of Detroit owns buildings on the south side of E. Grand Boulevard and has torn down several of them. But Detroit has run out of money. City council just passed a resolution to sell $250 Million of bonds to demolish 16,000 vacant homes in the city. However, the city owns 102,330 vacant homes that need to be demolished.

There are a lot of cities in America that don’t contain 102,330 homes, let alone need to tear down that many. Demolishing the remaining 86,330 vacant homes will take another $1.35 Billion (yes, with a “B”). So no money left for the CofD to tear it down.

As Kevin and Leeedy mention it is tiring and it is sad and the only reason it still stands is because it costs too much to tear down.

And then what? You’ll have 40 acres of vacant land in a city with 43 square miles of vacant land. I suspect I will be gone before the PMCC Plant is gone.

Packard Plant owner said he would pay hundreds of thousands in late taxes by end of 2020. He hasn't.

• Packard Plant owner's promise to pay some late taxes by end of 2020 goes unfulfilled.
• Fernando Palazuelo now owes more than double ($821,426) what he paid for the plant in 2013.
• He says he is "making arrangements" on ensuring balances are paid.

Packard Plant owner Fernando Palazuelo hasn't made good on a claim he made in October that he would pay at least $200,000 in back-due property taxes by the end of 2020.

In fact, he actually owes more today than he did at that time as the historic but dilapidated 40-acre property with 3.2 million square feet of Albert Kahn-designed space teeters toward foreclosure.

A little over four months ago, the developer, now living in Peru, owed $774,723 in back taxes and unpaid Detroit Water and Sewerage Department bills and Palazuelo said he would pay a substantial portion of that by year's end.

Today, he owes $821,426, according to data Crain's compiled Wednesday using the Wayne County Treasurer's Office website. That $47,702 increase is likely attributed to interest and late penalties.

When you find the LED bulb you are looking for make sure you buy them in RED for the taillights.

LED bulbs should be the same color as the lens covering them.

Taillights are RED, so bulb should be red. Fender lights are clear, so bulb should be clear.
