Here's a picture of a correct front bumper (it's another owner in the Registry section)...

I had an issue with the ceramic fuel filter near the carb when I first got my 55 Clipper. It needed a good soak in carb cleaner to clean it out. Not sure if you cleaned or replaced that but another thing to check. Good luck.

It appears the NOS switch is for a 1938. If your repair of your old button doesn't work, Max Merritt has the correct one listed in their catalog that matches your switch for a 1939.

I am very curious to hear how this project is going and I would love to see any pictures you may have available. If you've had time to work on it, of course.

I was browsing through the disc brake conversion kits at Summit Racing and it looks like this company (Right Stuff Detailing) has very competetively-priced disc brake and master cylinder/booster conversion kits for a lot of cars. As I am not so good with all of the nitty-gritty technical details as a lot of you are, I wonder if someone might want to call and see if they might be willing to put together a conversion kit that would work with the 55-56 Packards?http://www.getdiscbrakes.com/disc-brake-conversions
