Hi Guys, hoping to find some info. I have an 1957 Clipper sedan that seems to be hesitateing, possibly for fuel issues. Two questions; #1 does this car have a fuel filter and where is it? #2 Does this sound like it may be a fuel pump issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

No, it's not a Packard. But it's an important part of automotive history and should be preserved. And like any auto of age, it needs tlc. spfan

Hi Guys,
Looking for some ideas.I have a 1957 clipper sedan that is equipped with the borg-warner 3 speed with over drive.I recently had the original clutch replaced. It shifts great for about a half hour of driving time (aprox 7-10 miles) When I stop at a light I put it in neutral and take my foot off the clutch. When I press down the clutch and try to put it into first the gears chatter. If I take her home and start it up later she will run fine then repeat the whole situation again. The noise also happens at this time if I put her into reverse, second and third are fine. Any ideas?

From the pics I'd say it's its a great looking original car.
I have allways been of the opinion that an original car should stay just that, original.A car can only be original once.As it is it is an important bit of history, showing others exactly the way the car came equipped from the factory."Wrinkles are a badge of honor saying "hey I survived"

I have an original 1957 clipper and I love it :)

good luck

I have never taken my clipper anywhere where people haven't come up to me with comments, questions or to reminisce. It's one of the few hobbies where a total stranger will come up to you and start a conversation. You definatley can not be in a hurry driving a Packard.
I had a very touching incident happend this past summer at the Willoughby Ohio cruise in.A lady came up to me,and through her tears she told me that earlier this year she had lost her dad.She told me that her dad owned a car just like mine when she was a kid. She said she was at the end of the row of cars when the sun reflected off the windshield and caught her eye.I asked her if she wanted to look inside the car and opened the door and walked away so she could have her privacy.Cars can be very fun and they evoke an extremely strong emotion.
