Theres only one place on the whole exhaust system where the clamp fits to the tube dimension and that?s the rear of the silencer. I have supplied two pics from under the frame and one from above.
My guess is that it mounts from below and that there is something missing????

On my '54 one of the exhaust hangers attaches to one of the body support brackets off the frame. You'll see this in my project blog.

Found it on page 122. Did not lead me much further right now but the search continues.

Thanks Howard.

Item 3 solved but still can not figure out item 4.

According to FredKanter the exhaust is only connected to the frame, never to the body.
Maybe there?s something more missing?

Regarding where I bought them I have no idea. There?s a Swede living in USA who has been supplying parts to Scandinavian Packard owners for about 40 years now. I just write to him and the parts I want come by post.

Exhaust hinges.

Hello again.

I bought a new exhaust from America including all fastening brackets for my 2150.

So far I have figured out that no:1 and no:2 are combined together at the bellhousing.

Number 3 is the last but I haven't found any hole in the frame where it attaches. Isn?t it attached to the frame?

Number 4 is at the rear of the silencer. But I can?t figure out how it is attached to the frame. Is there no flexible device here?

One thing with batteries, they must be checked with a substantial load. That?s why in old times when each segment of the battery had two poles to measure and a fork looking device with a load resistance was used.
If measuring without load with a voltmeter it will indicate correct voltage even if the battery is totally shot. If You do not have the proper tool use a voltmeter at the same time as when as many users as possible are active. The voltage should still show around 6 Volts.

Thanks for all the answers.

I checked the EATON page and found lots of information there. Seems like there?s more to leaf springs than I could ever imagine.

I am going to contact them for parts and advice.

Thank You all.

Brgds.

Thanks for answer.
I did not know about the inserts as they were all missing on my car. That explains the bulbs in both ends of each blade.

Seems that my 2126 should have pn:358492 SILENITE.
Does anybody know where I can get them or a good substitute?

Brgds.

This is the rear springs of my 2150.
They are corroded but for a 70 years old car they are ok and the springing is also ok.
How should they be restored?
My thoughts are to first get them sandblasted? But how do I proceed after that?
Shall they be painted individually and then assembled or shall they be assembled and only the visible areas painted leaving the bare metal where the blades are together?

How are You going to fit a TH700 to the straight eight? Doesn?t Your car have the rear engine mounts on each side of the gearbox and one single at the front.
