Steve
If there's a vent window on the other side could you look at that to see what the top pivot piece looks like and how it's attached? Good luck.

Steve
I don't know about either part, BUT, the fastest way to identify the parts is dispose of them, it's then that you'll need them/it. deep.

GuyDeGennaro too bad the engine was disassembled so long ago. I hope that the engine, head, intake and carb were sufficiently preserved to protect the parts. I don't think you can pick and choose what needs to be done now, in my estimation everything needs to be done. But wait there's more, the heavy hitters will try and help you out with their expertise. Good luck.

How's Big Kev doing? I've been waiting for the hanging of the Christmas lights and have noticed (I think) that I haven't seen many posts. I love the guy and hope this is just my overactive imagination.

Steve
FYI.....for those that might wonder what a toilet paper oil filter looks like this link shows a NOS filter. In 1967 when I bought my 1967 Sunbeam Tiger the dealer sold me on the merits of this aftermarket filter and to this day I still believe in the tooth fairy.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Heat Riser Spring

Steve
Bummer! One step forward two steps back. Before modifying the spring call MM to verify you have the correct spring for your application. I've not run into this issue so be sure to ask MM what they recommend. But...keep checking this forum perhaps others have an work around and the next post may have the solution. Good luck.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Heat Riser Spring

Steve
Springs that change their tension with heat are usually specifically designed for a certain application. I suppose the "universal" nature of your aftermarket spring means that for some cars it will work and other cars it will not work. A Packard replacement part or aftermarket Packard replacement will be in your own best interest since a non-op or partial opening spring can cause engine power issues. Hope this helps.
