the 41-2 color is as West describes - I think I found a stock rattle can decent match. The 40 rim and column (at least in this example) are darker, yellower than the 41-2

The paint is based on reacting with iron oxide to stabilize it

I've seen it on a green station sedan, and I believe a gold anniversary sedan.

strong frames, but usual lower edges rust on body. The column shifter slip/slop (lots on it here). With a six, I'd be looking for a less common body (2 dr or taxi).

Rolls-Royce styling has been pretty much a disaster since the delicate touch of their new German owners descended.

Delphi lived on preferential treatment from GM, now separate and some pieces hived off like Inteva.

there are several different lenses used depending on model. First, is your car 22nd or 23rd series? (22nd has rectangular flush tailights and side trim low in line with the bumpers). Secondly, which model? - is the center grille all horizontal or cross-hatched? Then you can refer to the lens you need.

Interesting Roger! I know mine was on the car when Dick Evans had it some years ago (the mast is newer), but I was unaware of the info you shared. Perhaps we will get to park next to each other somewhere next spring so I can compare. I suppose there is the old "using up old parts" line but I don't know the car's history when new - it did come with a factory radio.

I'm no upholstery expert, but Packard offered Bedford Cord with leather bolsters, for example the 48 - 50 Custom Convertible. Aren't 56 Caribbean reversible seats leather on one side and fabric on the other? Perhaps only feasible for certain seat designs?
