Nice photos. Thanks for posting. With about 2" of snow on the ground and already -20c Tucson seems like a nice place to be. My collector car has been put way for the winter about two months ago! I might just come down this winter as I enjoyed my last trip two winters ago.

My first two cars were Chryslers, the first was a 1952 Windsor and the next a 1962 New Yorker. I would love to have either of these two cars back in my garage along with the 47 Super Clipper which I recently sold.

I once had my 47 Supper Clipper to an indicated ,by speedometer , 80 but likely less since the speedo was off by a few mph. On rare occasions
I was able to cruise for many miles at 70 in OD without a problem.

I have been following this thread closely on my iPad while I am here in Ireland. My father was a crew member on Royal Canadian Navy MTB 735 during World War 2. There were two types with the larger versions like my dad's ship being powered by 4 Packard marine engines. The book John mentioned is a must read for anyone interested in the exploits of these gallant seamen fighting in the English Channel and the Scheldt Estuary. My father's ship was in the D Day invasion 69 years ago today protecting the troop carriers from the German Navy E boats as they made their way across the channel.

HH, The input shaft diameter of the transmission for the big block Fords of the late 60's is the same but the pilot bearing is smaller so I didn't have much luck with that shaft but the one I bought from Kinsborne fit perfectly. I can mail you the one I have since it probably isn't going to be used again. You can have it for postage.
I believe this is the one from a company called Kingsborne.
The 356 Packard is not listed but the 1962 Studebacker Diesel truck one is the same dimensions as the Packard trans so this is the one I bought and it worked perfectly. Perhaps Studebacker used the big Packard trans in those trucks?
I bought this one for $10 and the shipping is free so probably the cheapest way to get one.

Perhaps a bit of heat followed by more PB Blaster or maybe the mixture of 50/50 acetone and ATF which I have read is the best penetrating oil. Probably a good dose of patience also.
