One of the PS hoses between the Control Valve and the Ram has metric fittings, 11mm. Does that mean it was replaced sometime?

Thanks,
John

Howard,

Thanks so much. I will try that. I assume take it apart 1st and go from there on repair or get a rebuild.

Thanks,

PS Control Valve Leak

I have a 53 patrician with power steering. My control valve is leaking from the ball stud. The 51-54 Packard Service Manual says to recondition the control valve assembly. Where do I get parts to do that? Thanks for any help.

The 359 had bigger intake valves than the 327. Exhaust were the same. Did the block casting get changed to fit the bigger valves or just machining?

Does anyone know if the wall is thin around the exhaust valve as well? The cross section picture was described as an intake valve.

Thanks,

How did it turn out? How did the driving improve? Would you do it again or differently?

Thanks,

Craig
Do you think this would be much different on a 51 to 54? I have also heard Chevy II bars work at least in the back. Also do you find the 1" front 3/4" rear to work well? Or would bigger or smaller have been better?

Thanks
John

Should this work on a 51-54 as well?

Thanks,

The interest in an LSD was for traction but only secondary. But my real interest was higher numerical gears as part of changing the trans to a modern automatic overdrive unit. Maybe a 0.70 overdrive 4L65e or other.
