....ummmm, no shock to most that I would respond. I support a little bit of my hobby by buying and selling a few parts on the side, so to speak. I am not doing this for a business, there are a handful of the known suppliers that do. That said, I pretty much limit myself to 35-41 stuff, so how may I help you? Which engines do you need? Right now, I'm having a "sale" on engines...
And as for Joel Ray & Marvin King, Patrician Industries, "Packards1" here and on ebay, they've been my go-to source for the past 35 years. Trust'em.

Re: Dummy Timing Chain Install Question

I vaguely recall one other thread where new manufacture timing chains were of concern on a 288/327. I am aware of another specific instance where a new manufacture 37-39 Super 8 timing chain was worse than a worn original, but I do NOT recall where either one was sourced. That said, I'm sure I have a NOS or USA manufactured (old) NORS chain available should you wish to go that route. 20% less than whatever MM or "K"mart price, whichever is less. I'm not in business and not trying to take business from those that are, I just have a few excess parts from when I buy a pile to get what I want. DAF

not exactly...the bxov was also used on some other cars, such as studebaker, so while the model of the carburetor will be correct, the linkage mounts, jets, etc will be different. If you want, I will look and see if I have a correct carb... if so my price for a good used rebuildable carb would be $100.40, plus shipping.

Gary - depending on the year you prefer, I have a friend who has several convertible project cars in the 38-41 style, as well as a 48 Custom 8 Convertible that needs a loving home. PM me for direct contact information.

As long as it is tasteful and reasonably original in style, the value will not be seriously adversely affected - and more importantly, it will be as you desire. Please yourself, not the next owner.

If you go with an electric fuel pump, you will not have the vacuum section for your windshield wipers, so the question is do you drive your car in the rain or are they minimally required for state inspection. As to mechanical or electric, the debate is as old as organic or synthetic fluids. In this case, fuel pumps, I believe a consensus could be agreed upon by recommending both. Particularly if your car catches the dreaded "vapor lock" virus on occasion....

Not sure if you might consider, but I have a strange quirk for the R-6 overdrives, and if you want a correct unit for your car, an R-9, I would consider a trade. Some say tomayto, some say tomahto...
