hello guys.
yes, i do have Packard Easamatic
brakes. Cool. I did not know i had them. I opened the file you told me to read and that is what i have. thanks

and i got my heater fan to work today. new switch and fuse.
so now i need to get the wipers in better working order.
they go up when you turn them on and stop at the top and stay there. they will go down when you turn them off. but that is all they do. better than nothing i guess. I followed the steps here to lubricate. i did it twice and this is the best i get.
Have a great packard day guys. i wish i could stay home from work today and just play wwith the car. more tomorrow.

i should have checked the one line more complete b 4 i wrote this question. see, never assume, this is like being a detective. it probably goes to the brake. which is cool because i did not think i had power brakes.

tank like object in pax side fender well

i know some one will be able to explain this to me real easy.
in the fender well on my '52, near the aentenna for the radio there is a tank like object. Kind of long and narrow with rubber tubing. the tubing goes to the engine, under the carb , on exhaust. so i think this has to do with vacuum
. the tubing looks ok. i think at some point i should replace it. does this have any bearing on the workings of the wipers? i do believe one tube must go to the trans. am i correct?
thanks in advance for the lesson. i tried a search but came up zero.
have a great packard day.

hello. wow . it is so helpful to see this pic. i really apprecaite your help. i know the fuse is there in the tube holder and i have a fuse close by for the radio. so this should not be too much trouble.
thanks

interesting this topic is mentioned. i just came inside 'playing' with my '52. when i got my car recently the seller said the wipers don't work or the heater.
so i read here on the site about the wipers and followed your advice. i have gotten some action, not much though. but i did learn something. so i will keep working on that.

today i got the blower to work on and off, but now nothing/.
but at least i know the motor works. i cleaned the wire connectors that went from the motor to the outside of the carb. i cleaned real good with fine sand paper and reconnected real tight. thought that would do it, but would not start again.
the toggle swithch on the heater control on dash is gold plastic that says made in china with 3 connectors , but only 2 wires clamped to it. i read in the manual where it says fuse type i will re check that again later. I guesss the next step is to test the switch.

BTW I LOVE to play with this car.

fuel and fluids
Home away from home
Home away from home

I am having a great time getting to know my '52 packard. I have had my car 1 WK. today.
I have read threads on what type of fluids to use etc
(like oil and ATF) I want to cchange these fluids so i have a baseline to start from.
What type of fuel should i use. ??? Do i want regular or supreme? Here in hawaii i can get fuel or gasoline without ethanol. Should i use that. I am told this new fuel with ethanol attracts moisture.
Do i want to put any addatives in my tank? I am not real big on lots of xtras.

Any advice. ??? thanks
