Certainly the parts lists I look at are all annotated with RHD and LHD columns for those parts that were different side to side. I would suspect many more than we realize were imported.

Yes, glad to hear Russ's 148 incher is being looked at :)

Coupes don't do much for me , but that is certainly a well done one. Was a nice Xmas get together for sure.

LOL Runner up for best original. Translated....that means for a car that needs work it sure has most of it's proper parts.

Haven't got back to the carb problem that seemed to mysteriously disappear. Gonna put the BXOV26 back on this week when I have time.

Beginning to wonder if it really is too much fuel pressure. Can't comprehend that situation really. A fuel pump is a fuel pump.

Where were you, Kath, Wade, and Gina when Annet was picture taking/??

Thanks....the float "sinking" occurred to me overnight. I will check that out when I have time. The fuel pump is new (ok a rebuilt one)and correct for the model and the needle and seat are new to the rebuild, so lookong at the float sounds like the place to start.

Mal we are going to Wyong but, unfortunately, in a Subaru (or maybe with the Clarksons)

Stromberg BXV026 carb

Here is my saga.

My '40 110 had a Holden carb on it when I bought it (Australia GM).

I bought the correct carb on ebay (and later a kit for it). Someone rebulit it for me. It seemed to work great for an hour. Then I noticed some gas so I tightened everything. Then it started pouring out of the bottom portion of the carb (the nut on the other side of the throttle assembly). I didn't figure it was actually leaking there so I assumed the float. Bent the float down quite a bit and it was even worse when I got it back on.

Any help?

I have a spare block (I don't think it was ever used) dated 1949. Spare parts to Australia? I dunno.

No, I am near the coast. So low altitude. I'll give it a go this weekend.

No the choke wasn't open. I drove it till it was warm and then took out the coil wire....then I took out one plug at a time and then plug back in and off to the next plug. Why would one take them out all at once? Very shade tree here.

Not yet...I am seeing him in a couple of weeks. Will ask then if I haven't sorted it by then.
