Good one John
But Guscha may I ask this: Did the engine run smoothly before it stopped?
This year my friend had a similar problem with his 1956 Buick Century Riviera. We had no Idea what was going on,we tried everything until we removed the gastank that was full of dirt and screws (a lot of them)!

Although I didn't know Dan, I have to say that hes collection of Packard literature is with a High value, I can understand that since I have a collection of Soviet car literature and
I manuals. I agree also what Jim said.
I hope there are some spare parts catalogs for 1953-54 Packards? If there such thing exist?

Well,Mal I think that there aren't that many places in the world where people have fun with old Packards.
And the main question, did the 1930s Packards hade any anticorrosion works done before they came out of the factory?
I think they must have used lead but maybe there was something els to?

The ZIS-110 engine:I don't have any engines for ZIS-110, these engines here are extremely rare. The last one I saw for sale was 5 year ago and it was not a complete one. The owner asked 500$ for it and it was sold in a week!
The only flatheads I have had to repair are GAZ M20 "Pobeda" and GAZ 51 and 52 engines! If I find any documents where the measurements for the ZIS engine can be found I let everyone know immediately.

Im not that kind of a person how deals with Military involved things. There are a lot of WW II and other military related things/objects collectors here. So finding something these days is becoming harder. The "golden days" for collecting migth have been in the 90s.
