Re: Wood grained dash

1938 was the first year all steel Packard body, the factory wanted to show it was modern and had got away from the woodgraining. After that year the buying public told the powers at be they wanted the woodgraining back and it returned the next year. When I owned a 1938 1601 30 years ago I had to know why it looked plainer than the 37's and I did research then. Yes without a computer lol.

I took off the passinger side front shock off my 1937 120 Sport Coupe and replaced it with a correct one. But now what do I have that was there. I need some help identifying the shock. I am thinking its from a 1939 but I will see hopefully from the group. Its a Delco Lovejoy 1946K, The part number on the shock itself is 5313841 D. The 2 arms numbers are 5316309 and 5316310. I have 2 37's in a one car garage so I am getting rid of all non essential items. Yes by ebay....... Have a few items on there now. However if someone needs this shock let me know. Thanks Don

Yes I will put my 1937 Rumble seat 120 coupe in the registry also have a 37 115C Touring Sedan. In 1984 I sold a 1937 120 Bus Coupe to a George Miunder? in Australia. At the time he said it would be the only one of that Model down under. Don

Hello I have a Packard Delux heater and on its metal tag its marked H81. It has ducts for two defroster vents. Does anyone know what year and models this fits? It was bought for a 37 120 but I know its not for that model at least.
