Hoping it's just a U joint and not something gnarly like a pinion bearing.

I'm in Spokane, WA; I found the car in Richland, about two hours southwest of me. It was listed on Facebook Marketplace at about 6PM on a Thursday night. I immediately emailed the owner and made arrangements to see in Friday morning. I got there at 9AM and bought it by 9:15. We trailered it home that day. The following Monday I visited the owner again to retrieve a load of spare parts (complete engine, among other parts) and our reply was the only one they had.

Beautiful car. If I didn't already have two Juniors I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

I don't have that model, but had a similar issue in an old Ford. The rear trans mount had separated--metal from rubber. Not so you'd see it naturally, but when I put a jack under the tailshaft and lifted it just a bit, the problem was obvious. You might look to see if you have something similar.

Also, despite the lack of movement in the driveshaft, how old are the U-joints? I changed the ones in my '37 115c as the rear had noticeable movement in it and was obviously "done", but the front U-joint was just as bad, and missing half of the needle bearings, while not showing any movement when idle. The grease inside the cups was also solid.

Magically that weird vibration disappeared when I got it all back together.

I do wish you luck with your sale; in our part of the country the market for 115's is more in the 15K-20K range.

I have one myself, bought in '19. It's an older restoration, and had been sitting for about a decade. I bought it for 12K and had to put about 2K more into it to get it roadworthy again.

Unfortunately no, I did not--I just tested it for function.

Had a new fuel pickup and sending unit built by Kevin at KM Lifestyle (https://mykmlifestyle.com/) for the '37.

Installed it yesterday, works like a charm. Workmanship is outstanding.

Interesting sidebar though. I bought the replacement tank a year or so ago on ebay, stated it was a '37 120 tank--I have a 115C. Turned out to be a 115C tank all along, so the original mounting straps worked just fine.

Weather here today is still in the 30's and this week we'll be back in single digits at night, so Amelia will stay on the lift another week or so for some additional tidying up before spring.

Interesting. I wonder what would fit on my '40 110. Could I get 70 series under those fenders without a problem?
