I finally got the chance to get the driver's door panel off to see if it too had the "Jesse" name on it and sure enough..just the same as the back door.
I now think that Clipper 47 has the correct answer.

Hello again, E.R. Wood,
If you are in need of parts you might want to check out the monthly antique auto fleamarket in Amherst NH. They have it the last Sunday of the month from April to October and they start at dawn. It's a lot of fun and they have great vendors, tire kickers and some pretty good food. Here's the address: 157 Hollis Rd Rte 122 Amherst, NH 03031 Amherst is in Southern NH near Nashua.

Hello E.R. Wood,
Congrats on your acquisition and welcome to an especially cool website! Are you in the Granite State?...(that's NH for the flatlanders in the audience..)

Hi,
I'm sure that the guy got his $3,500 for it. Bedford NH is a rather "well-heeled" part of NH. There was a '54 Clipper junker about a month ago on Craigslist NH and that guy wanted $2000 for it. The difference of that $1,500 between the two was HUGE!

Interior Chrome Screws

What is the best source, or most popular by fellow Packard fans, for chrome interior screws? I saw a few "kits" on e-Bay for mid-to-late 50s GM cars and they looked as if they would fit my Clipper Super, but they were pricey. I'm not about to pay $5.95 for something that doesn't weight very much. I ship lots of stuff on e-Bay and these screws can't weigh more than 8 oz. in a well packed box.

Thanks for the input guys..I always learn something here!
I took the upholstered panel off of the right rear door and it has what looks like a letter "A" written in orange chalk. Now I have to vacuum the rust chips out of the door bottom and prep the inside of the door for a coating of POR 15. Luckily the upholstered panels are in great shape and I can peel them off of the masonite-type backing.

When I removed the interior door panel from the '55 Clipper Super, I found the name "Jesse" scrawled on the door. Any ideas?? No I didn't put it there.. Now I'm wondering what's under the other door panels..
