Just curious as to what was period correct. I searched past post and the internet and really couldn’t find anything.
I’m going to put a new set of plug wires on my 42’
I see a lot of you have used the Packard 440 7mm copper core wire and it seems to be readily available on eBay. I have an old roll of Packard 330 lacquered cloth covered 7mm copper core wire I could use also, but it is pretty stiff.
I will probably just use the 440, but before I buy it I would just like to hear your opinions.

Thanks for the pictures, looks very similar to the one I fabricated up. I had to put the curve in it to keep the tube on the air cleaner side

I have checked John Ulrich's web site and he makes one that looks like what I have and says it's for 38-42.
I have looked in my parts books, service manual and service letters and can not find a reference to it - it could be in there but I may be looking in the wrong area. The original engine that came with the car was a 42 block and it had about 3" of the tube sticking out of the water pump and it was broken off at that point.

Would anyone have an engine bay judging standard that might show it? I tried to buy one from Packards international but they will not return calls or emails and they are not accepting memberships.

This is the only picture I could find on the web, It says its a 1942 Clipper

I’m finishing the last of the engine on my 42’ 282 and the steel tube from the water pump to the heater that goes down the top of the engine was only a couple of rusted pieces and was to far gone to get any accurate measurements as to how long it should be and how high off the cylinder head it should be routed. Also need to know how it is mounted to the brace for the air cleaner.
Any thoughts?

The picture shows what I have so far, just need to cut and lower it to the proper height and flare it

I just talked to Classic to Current Fabrication and they told me I was given the wrong information. They did quit making them for a while but are now making them again.
It will take them 7+ days to custom make and ship.
The confusion was they will no longer be listing them on eBay because of the new eBay rules where they have to be in stock and ship within a day or so.
They will also give Veteran's a 10% discount

Everything is listed as fitting a 110. I was under the assumption the bodies were pretty much the same between the 110’s and 120’s. The main difference was from the cowl forward.
Any insight as to if this is correct?
I have a call into them to see what is available.

They are the ones who no longer make them

As I start tearing the car apart I know I will need to replace the floor panels on my 1942 convertible. Curious where others have bought replacement panels or if they just fabricated their own replacements. There was a guy that sold them of Ebay but he is no longer making them.
I have not found any other sources for replacement sheet metal on the web.
If I do make my own - is 18 Gauge the correct replacement.
