Hi everybody:
I am very embarassed to admit I just notice I left this unattended, after all the kind help I had been getting. I guess it may be early alzheimers, as I can see no other excuse, except perhaps for wanting to take a pic of that theft proof number that I was requested... It is: 006884 I wanted to attach a pic, but the server says I am trying to attack it, or something like that. Anyhow, getting back on the subject, would this number tell anything? Thanks! Victor

I know this is a very old topic, but I just found about the book and I would love to have it to try to complete my tool and jack sets for my Packards.
Can anybody tell me where to find it? or in case somebody has a copy that could sell, I would certainly be glad to get it from him. Thanks! Victor

Thanks for the contact information.
On the clamps... they were probably equally dirty/ugly, but I surely cleaned and galvanized one and forgot the other. I went carefully through all of my dismantling process pics and I just found one. It goes under the air tube entrance, close to the steering column. Not sure of what it would hold there but probably a windshield washer hose? The other one, no clue... The pic also shows I do have a spring lower in the accelerator mechanism. I will however look at installing one as pictured in the manual Howard posted and removing the ones I currently have.

Thanks! That leaves the doubt only to the two smaller ones!

Yes, Howard, you are right. Mine is different, so it was probably made. And comming to analize it a bit I don't see the reason for the spring in that rod. I will take good look tomorrow, and also at the possibility of moving the one spring to where it should be.
In the meantime, these are the clamps I am referring to. I already know what the larger one is for... the heater hose on the front of the block... one looks like it was soldered to something and might have been the oil entrance tube in the transmission, I will take a look. but the other two small ones, the ones with rubber, any ideas where they are supposed to go?

This last picture is the firewall accelerator mechanism. This is where the spring in Howard's pic of the manual apparently goes. In my case, since the car has the adapted Chrysler transmission, somebody decided to adapt there the rod for the downshift, which by the way is not working.

Thanks! Does anybody have Joel Ray's or Mike Dulinski's email address to look for the rubber part?
Ooops... did I place the decal in the wrong place? On the springs, my car shows two of them. One in the rod joining both carburators. The other one, going from the oil filter base to the gas pedal rod. Pics attached.

Getting back to engine bay details, and what I have done specifically to my car, I did get the heat shields from Dwight. I painted them, installed them and they look great; I highly recommend him in case any of you need a set.
I also found an oil filter decal and fitted one of my metal clamps, the one holding the heater hose to the front of the engine hose. I still need to find where the other three clamps go and get the rubber cover for the voltage regulator terminals. Getting closer...
