That was what I surmised looking at the accessory brochures and seeing the filing date on the patent application (05/14/1947). Thanks for responding.

It was not a 356. It is definitely a 120 in every way except for the few 160 parts mentioned above. The Facebook ads have also been removed along with extensive comments. The seller did post a photo of the data plate and seemed genuinely surprised that it had a falsified vehicle number. I understand the title also shows 1475-2001 which I would consider to be a major problem.

I've been going back and forth with this guy on Facebook. A. It's not a 160 B. It is a 120 with some 160 parts (trunk script, bumpers, hubcaps). C. It has a bogus data plate showing a VN of 1475-2001. D. The real 1475-2001 is actually in Australia and is listed in the owner's registry here. E. It has one side mount and a really goofy box sunk in the driver's fender. F. Seller claims it was modified by Henney... it does have a Henney medallion and hood latch trim. I suspect the Henney trim just hides the holes where the 'One Twenty' script used to be. But... maybe not. Attach file: ![]() ![]()

I've got a mascot question. I was under the impression that the Cormorant mascot I have on my bathtubs was introduced with the 22nd Series. And yet, I see several Clippers sporting them. I thought the only hood ornament shared between the Clippers and the Bathtubs was the stylized Goddess. So... are all the Cormorants on the Clippers an after-sale add-on by the Clipper owners?

For the brake light switch you might try NAPA (Echlin SL134).
Edit: O_D beat me to it.

I'm about 95% certain that the Clipper in the photo is a 1942 model. But... even so, it's still probably on a 127" wheelbase.

The '48 Custom Convertible looks like an interesting project for someone with deep pockets. The glove box door is from a non-Custom. If the engine that is out of the car is truly a 'Thunderbolt' then it's not a 356 and is from a later model.
